From ACL Injury to Coaching Gym Owner
It started with a torn ACL. I was playing indoor soccer when I injured my knee. The road to recovery wasn’t easy—but what stood out most was the huge gap between rehab and actually returning to sport. That experience lit a fire in me. I realised there had to be a better way to help people move well, avoid re-injury, and build real strength for life.
That’s when I found FIIT Project.
From Injury to Intention
Around that time, a physio I trusted said something that stuck with me:
“You should meet the owner of FIIT Project—you two think the same.”
He was right. We both believed fitness should be about education, not ego. About longevity, not just pushing to the limit. I started coaching at FIIT Project, and it felt right. But there was something more tugging at me.
I was limited by the hours in my day—coaching, training, programming. I knew if I could lead the gym, I could make a bigger impact. I could train other coaches, create systems, and help more people in one session than I ever could on my own.
So I made the leap. I took over FIIT Project.
A Gym That Feels Different
Back then, FIIT Project had a strong push-hard-every-day vibe. It was intense. For some, it was exciting—but for many, it was intimidating. New members struggled to feel comfortable. Injuries were more common. And personal training and nutrition weren’t really a thing.
That’s not what I wanted.
I wanted a coaching gym. A place where people learn how to move better, eat better, and take care of themselves—not just work out.
Rebuilding FIIT Project With Purpose
Since taking over, we’ve made some big changes:
- Foundations Sessions are now the first step for every member. We want people to feel supported from day one.
- Personal training became a pillar, not an afterthought.
- We introduced a personalised nutrition program, and we’re bringing in more education with workshops and talks.
- We check in. We care. We adapt every session for sore knees, cranky backs, or whatever life throws your way.
Because showing up is hard enough—training shouldn’t make it harder.
Why We’re Different
People often ask, “What makes FIIT Project different?”
It’s not just the programming or the space. It’s how we treat people.
We don’t push for perfection. We coach for progress.
We don’t expect you to train at 100% every day.
We’ll meet you where you are—even if that means you walk in a little sore, a little tired, or a little unsure.
And we’ll keep showing up for you. Because we’re not here for six-week transformations.
We’re here for the long game.
This Is Why I Took Over FIIT Project
I didn’t plan to run a gym.
But my injury gave me a second chance—to create something meaningful, something that helps others avoid the pain I went through.
FIIT Project is more than a gym. It’s a place to learn, grow, and be supported every step of the way.
If you’re looking for that kind of place, we’d love to meet you.
